Attributes of God

• God has always provided Paul a way out of his troubles; provided them people to help them escape. —v.19 & v.14

1 Corinthians 10:13, “God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

Sins to Confess/Avoid

• Jealousy —v.5 {causes riot/beginning of riot (v.5); beginning of lying/false witnessing (v.6)}

It has always been a matter of the heart. Jealousy is thief that will steal your heart away from the love of God.

Principles to Apply

• Thessalonians vs. Bereans
• Sometimes we are like the Thessalonians who are so full of bad character, who cause riot; too jealous of glory
• Unlike the Thessalonians, the Bereans were more “noble in character”; instead of being jealous of glory, they were zealous for God’s glory —v.11

Examples to Follow

• Bereans of Noble Character —v.11
• They exhibit a Noble Character because they ‘EXAMINE SCRIPTURES EVERYDAY’; it wasn’t enough for them to just listen to Paul, they wanted to read and examine the Scriptures

Not being able to read the Bible last week, I have been like the Thessalonians; too jealous of the things in this world and being full of bad character. And this is what God has reveal for me today, to be of Noble Character and not causing ‘riot’.
